Troubleshooting

A few common problems and what to do about them:

CV upload fails or extracts nothing. Almost always means the PDF is a scanned image without embedded text. Re-export from your editor as a regular PDF, or paste the text into Word and upload the DOCX.

Microphone doesn't work in Practice. Check your browser's site permissions for the app's domain — first time you use voice input, the browser asks for permission, and if you denied it once it won't ask again until you reset. Corporate networks sometimes block microphone access entirely.

TTS won't play. TTS is a Pro feature. If you're on Pro and it still doesn't play, check that your device's audio output isn't muted, and try a different voice from Settings.

Scores feel wrong / always 6. The scoring AI is supposed to differentiate sharply. If you're getting flat 6s across every dimension and answer, something's off — please report it. (We made specific changes to fix this exact problem; if it's back, that's a regression.)

Stuck on a page. The Clarity Coach bubble re-opens after 45 seconds of inactivity if there's an unseen tip. Click it for a one-line nudge. If you're more confused than that, open this help agent and just ask — that's what it's for.

Free tier limits. 3 sessions, 1 job, 5 stories. If you've hit a limit, the UI shows the upgrade prompt. Free is for trying the app; Pro removes the caps.

Email verification stuck. Check spam. If still nothing, you can re-trigger from /sign-in.

Lost your work. Drafts auto-save on the STAR add/edit form. For other forms, refresh shouldn't lose data, but if it does, raise it.
