Key concepts and terms
Quick reference for the terminology used across the app.
- STAR — Situation, Task, Action, Result. The four-part structure for answering behavioural interview questions.
- STAR story / STAR example — one specific story you've written in STAR format. You build a library of these.
- Career block — a structured chunk of CV content (one job, one qualification, one skill group). The app extracts these from uploaded CVs.
- Application — a real job you're tracking. Has a JD, a CV attached, fit analysis, and prep.
- Fit analysis — automated comparison of your profile against a JD's requirements. Returns matched competencies, gaps, and recommendations.
- CV grade — overall quality score for your CV across 5 dimensions: structure, impact language, quantification, ATS compatibility, length.
- Readiness score — overall job-fit score (0-100) for an application.
- Session — one mock interview. Holds the questions, your answers, the scores, and the optional audio recording.
- Practice mode vs Live mode — Practice shows hints and a model answer after submission; Live is timed and unaided.
- Five scoring dimensions — Clarity, Relevance, Depth, Role Fit, Impact. Each scored 0-10 per answer.
- Persona — a TTS voice with personality (George, Daniel, Alice, Rachel, Liam, Matilda).
- Custom question — a question you've added manually for a specific job, always included in that job's sessions.
- Clarity Coach — the floating first-visit tips bubble. Distinct from this help agent.
- The matcher — the tool that maps your STARs to a job's likely questions. At
/stars/matcher.
