Match STARs to a job
The Job Matcher at /stars/matcher (also reachable from any application's prep page) takes a job description and your STAR library and produces a tailored prep pack.
What you get:
- Likely interview questions for this role, mixed across behavioural, technical, situational, motivational, and competency types.
- For each question, the best STAR from your library to use, with talking points adjusted to the angle of the question.
- Coverage gaps — competencies the JD demands that nothing in your library covers well. Write a STAR for these before the interview.
You can save the prep pack against an application. Then in Practice, pick the same job and the questions/STAR mappings you saved feed the session.
The matcher is most useful for actual interviews you have coming up. For general practice, the regular question generation in Practice is enough.
Note: the matcher selects from existing STARs only — it doesn't invent stories. If your library is sparse, the matches will be thin. Build the library first, match second.
